That's one of the first things I asked my hubby after he came home that morning. "When are you leaving?" We were newly weds then and had been married for little over a year. My 1st born was only 4 weeks old. By the time we were married for 10 years, he was deployed for over half of our marriage. I truly appreciate the sacrifice of the military and their spouses!
bump....
Downtown San Diego. Watching the news when the second plane hit. One of my coworkers had family on the second plane. Drove past Lindbergh, planes were grounded.
Thx to all the vets that were impacted by this horrible day.
I was in college in Utah. Driving to an early morning class, I heard the report on the radio and like many others thought it was some DJ prank as they reported a second plane crashing into the other tower.
Walked into class and nobody was there... hung out for a few minutes before I headed over to the professors office and saw everybody crowded in there watching it on TV and was like... "Wow... is this for real???!!"
Spent the rest of the day(next couple of days) glued to the TV.
Thank you to the all the services involved or not.
the clock radio went off during the
broadcast of the planes hitting.
i was working at sdsu at the time, and
it was just surreal.
they let us out at about 1pm that afternoon.
a truly awful and tragic day in American history.
...........
death to ISIS
.......
Watching it live while it unfolded, very dramatic and world changing event. I will never forget!
I was a freshman in college, heard the news while I was in my general chemistry lab.

I was driving to work between when the first and second plane hit. I heard it on NPR. Once at work the TV was on all day and many many refreshes of the CNN website kept everybody up to date. Like most I think my first reaction was disbelief/denial but it was sadly all too true. Hard to believe that seniors graduating from high school weren't even born when this happened and have never known a pre-9/11 world.
Bumppppp
