I say Evansi or Lyretail...
Just pick the ones you like the most. I guess you can have a whole bunch of different ones?
I can't choose that's the problem... I've been going back and forth for weeks.
They are healthiest in groups of their own species. So i want to just have all of one species
School of Bartlett's.
Lyretails or bartlett. Get only small females.
The other three species are difficult to keep.

Salty fingers since 1989. Current tanks: 240g FOWLR, 15g QT.
Lyretail all the way. I have a male and female and they are just awesome fish to watch.
Bartlett's are my choice!
Just weird enough without being too finicky and awesome colors.
Thanks for the input guys!
Pseudanthias Ventralis or Hawaiianinsis Anthias. depends on what book you look in. I used to see them regularly. havent seen them in a while but be patient they are real nice!
well Ventralis are unbelievably hard to keep to even the most sucessful aquarist,.. In most cases it requires a specific tank for them... Lots of shelfs low light ,lower water temp ( 75 ) ... But yeah they are spectacular... I've wanted them since i set my eyes on them... But that's just a dream lol
Glad to know that I backed the right fish! I am getting increasingl tired of fish that are "so pretty but very hard to keep." Sure to wish angelfish weren't such coral pickers though. The Potter's is beautiful!

Pay for my anthias
I wish i was getting paid to intern...
They guys up at Reef Empire have something like 20 Purple Queen Anthias. Those are supposed to be way harder to keep than the Ventrallis. It's about feeding mostly. Lots of variety. Micro foods. Rotifers, baby brine etc.
The only long term success with purple queens I've read about is on RC....it's a public display, where the fish are fed live foods off automatic feeders. Crazy stuff...
Edit: Hmmm, I'd offer a link, but RC's search function is only showing threads for the last month
Ventralis are sooooo timid. Tough to keep in any average tank. You'll notice at the Aquarium of the Pacific, they have them in their non-photosynthetic tank with firefish and that's about it, NOT with all their other anthias....

Get Bartlett's. I have them for $22.99. If you find them cheaper, than that person is crazy, and I'll price match.
