Snorkeling Maui, Hawaii

heyy cool. haha i just got back from hawaii too! I also went to the Old lahaina luau and it was great! Me and my friends ran into a lot of people from SD. At least 5 couples. haha.

I was gonna make a thread too, but since ur started, do u mind if I post a few pictures to share on your thread? =-)

I went to the Luau on Monday the 27th. We stayed at two resorts, Of which I forgot the names. hah. My friend had a timeshare we all used. One was Kahana I think, just north of kaanapali and the other was in kihei.

WOW small world we went on Saturday the 25th!!! almost went on the 27th. I have pictures of the luau too
We were in Wailea just south of Kihei at the Marriott! Where did you snorkel?

Saw a bunch of this encrusting coral in Honolua Bay, my favorite spot that I've been to!






This coral looked really cool, it had a some rainbow polyps, pink rims, and had mostly a white color to it.




This yellow coral was all over Honolua Bay!

That shot of the Achilles is awesome! I saw a few Achilles together but my camera battery died!!! isn't that always the way!!! Great Coral shots too! Honoloa bay is that in oahu??? WOW 2 weeks JEALOUS!!

What kinda camera are you using?

Nice unearthing of the pig shots! haha I didnt get to see it cause it got really crowded around it. That food waaas good. i agree on the Kalua Pork.. mmm. haha, the steak.. the chicken.. gahh.. everything was soo good. hah.

I went snorkeling at Honolua bay, a bit scary cause peoples cars would get broken into a lot over there.

Ahihi cove, black sand beach in kihei i think. Saw some stingrays there! A group of three. It was a bit scary.. didn't get to take a photo tho.

man Honolua Bay is in MAUI!! Damn...it didn't go that north...we only went as far as kapula Bay. DARN!!!

Honolua bay was in maui just 10 minutes or so north of lahaina. I was using an olympus stylus 1030sw. Buuut.. even tho its an underwater camera without underwater casing, i highly recommend buying the underwater casing for it cause my broke =-(. Seriously.. my battery would always die at the worst moments! haha.

I only saw the achilles twice. Once in oahu in hanauma bay, and once in maui at ahihi cove. The first time, it was alone, and the second time, it had a mate swimming with it.. i assume its mate. hah.

Seriously how many Convict tangs did you see? they were ALL over. I want to see more photos!!!!

hah they were. it was funny how they would just come as a school and then just move so fast like they were all in a rush.

Your right Aly, I think having a reef tank and knowing about the fish and corals made the experience that much better.

I think my friends just saw all the corals as rocks, whereas.. I appreciated them as colonies of awesome corals! and Appreciating the size of all the fish.. maaan those Naso tangs are huuuge. When I got home and saw mine, haha, I felt like it was puny. haha

LOL i know. The streamers were amazing on the nasos! Wow your photos of the Oahu waters make me want to go there now!!!
