Question: If I were to get the RKL lv 1, do I need to get a SL1 to connect the temp probe? or can the temp probe be connected directly into the head unit?

The RKL has a port for the included temp probe - a SL1 is not needed for just a temp probe.

Yeah, I know. I would use the sl2 on my rke on my 240. the rkl is for my solana, but thanks for the heads up. The reason I'm not sure yet is i'm rying to decide which way would be more cost effective for me. I need another pc4for my 240 and would like to monitor salinity on that tank.

Doh.. forgot already you have an RKE. Have you considered just using the RKE for both systems? It's more than capable.

Hmmm, didn't even think about that. Would it work from that distance? How would I extend the probes and can they be extended that far and still be accurate? Sounds like it may be a pita. I think I'd rather just get the rk1. for the price it would be worth having to do less work and I would have the seperate display available right next to the tank. Thanks for the suggestion though. I'll look into it. Hey i just thought of something. If I do just use the eleite, then there won't be 5 for this group buy. Thats another reason to get an rkl.

The SL2 will work with the RKL when it is released. All modules with the exception of the NET module will be compatible with the RKL.

Disregard this information I posted earlier, please. Go with what DaveMorris says instead... my apologies - there is some conflicting info on the DA website and forum.

They wanted to release by the end of this month but it looks like it will be another few weeks. I should have one in a week or so for testing and I will post as soon as I find out.
