Good lookin out nick! Thanks. I don't know who know's how to do this. I know I could if I sat and read and then bought all the material! No time for that. Plus, it's time for someone else to show their talents!

After living in LA and doing alot of commuting and then moving to IB, I'm used to having to commmute everywhere. If no one were to show, I guess it would just be me, you, the fish n coral, some good suds n grub. As long as the locations keep being offered, I am making a list of people to call on when one is needed.

I read an article about a new way of making it using coarse salt, like the kind for water softener's. You then let it cure for 6 to 8 weeks in freshwater and the salt dissolves leaving the rock really pourous so new stuff grows on it faster.

Also I think a good idea for a meet would be acrylic working. We could get some acrylic pieces and help each other build some stuff, such as ATO tanks, or sumps.

Okay folks, I'm gonna spell it out for ya..... I don't need help setting up chairs, frag tanks, lights, keg, bbq..... I don't need a grip of people to volunteer to host. I got a list a mile long for people who wanna host. I need people to volunteer to do demos. I need people who are willing to show their stuff. Plain and simple. I don't have time to chase people down to do this. I wish I did. I did for a year and a half. It was fun but now if you want a club, step up!!!!! Sorry to be harsh. But thats my style. I let it bottle up and not tell people the actual problem until i'm just pissed!

So there it is. I am in no way discouraging people from volunteering to host....As we all know, the host usually ends up with a grip of frags,,,, nor am I discounting the sincerity or want to help by hosting. THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM I NEED HELP WITH. I need people with skills. IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE...... GET THEM TO DO THE DEMO AND LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!!! I am more than willing to post threads, setup times, and coordinate the actual meeting, hell, I don't have 1 bit of a problem speaking in front of crowds, Idon't need help withthat. I need someone to take a risk at helping other reefers learn something new, or learn a better way of doing something. I agree that the last few meeting were fun just mingling and getting caught up with people. Really cool even. But if I am gonna continue to do this, I need this to be something that will better our community as well as provide an education on doing so. We have done a rock drilling demo and so many people liked it! So many people got over their fear of trying. That is something to be proud of.

Hope my point comes across. We can, however, have a meeting to discuss this. We can have a meeting to recruit people to do things. When myself and 4 other individuals setout to do this originally, we had a very distinct plan and path we wanted to follow. That has all turned to BS ideas as people dropped out, feeling were hurt when a merge didn't take place, and the ultimate goal, was lost and forgotten about.

I haven't forgotten why I started this club! It's to provide a safe place for learning!! It's to give people an opportunity to better the lives of their ecosystem. It's to help make others aware of ways to help protect our precious ocean. All the other stuff that comes with it like, having a bbq, maybe a raffle, are fun, but not my purpose. If I, as the SBRS president, fail to stay focussed on that goal, I have failed you. So, not that I got that off my shoulders, you all know the score!!!

I will start a thread today to get a running list together for demos. If you are a little shy and don't wanna get up there, let's get together so you can teach me and I will do my best to teach others! Fair trade? I think so! Thanks, Vinny
