Nice! Water is such a calming medium! I will try and get some pics of my pond at work.
Your inability to comprehend just cracks me up!
Tanks are all gone. House never sounded so quiet. It's kind of a spooky kind of quiet. Pretty sweet though.

How do pond peeps keep birds and critters from eating your fish?
There's a fine line between owning your tank, and having your tank own you!_________________________________________

Netting, electric fences, water shooters that detect motion. In the end though if the bird/animal wants to eat your fish they'll probably get it. I've seen 4' tall heroins perched on the edge of my pond all you can do is scare them away. Lots of floating plant cover helps too

nice. i dont have the yard for one yet, but one day i'll have an aggressive cichlid pond... like buttikoferis, midas, flowerhorns...

or maybe a redline snakehead, but it'd be the only fish in there.

Here's a couple of pics of my pond from about a year ago. Has been running for 4 years. I had to put a net over it to keep the herons out.

      some more pics i found...

it's a pop-up pond of about 3 ft, each side panel attached with latches so i could easily pull apart if i move. water volume is about 1,000g

the bright orange stain was when i started out. ..didn't appeal to me so i restained to red mahogany. on the sides of the ponds, (not pictured) are bonsai's and similar plants. i wanted a japanese theme

i no longer have hyacinths. they clog up the filter too quickly. blooming lilies for now.

bright orange, under construction 5 years ago. 3-stage tier was hand built by muah . (everything is currently stained dark-red mahogany)

my baby brother =]. taking advantage of the new water b4 bacteria started to build

This last one is a little bigger then usual it has a 10' waterfall not sure on gallons yet but you can get a feel for the size by the 4'x8' sheet of plywood on the ground...
