I love hungry fish.
Thanks Derek. Now the plan is to get some more shrooms and softies everywhere. Anyone weeding out their softies to make room for SPS? If so make sure to PM me! I'd appreciate it!
Nice setup you got there Ced, I think when I was at your house that time you were just drilling the holes in the wall. I didn't know you had a 300g, jeez thats enormous. Cool man, I like seeing the RC cars in the pics too
I took a few pics of my nano with my shotty camera that I'll post up here sometime. I took a few the day I got the tank and it was a disaster, it looked like a deserted wasteland, but now with clean water and no algae and my T5 lights on it it looks pretty nice and blue, as opposed to the gloomy yellow.
I'll try to get pics with a better camera cuz mine doesn't do the lil tank justice.
Oh, by the way I finally flew my heli the other day for about 1 min before I crashed
Thanks Dezert. Can't wait to see your setup! Keep trying to fly your heli. They are sooooo much fun! Check out helifreak.com (ccnada). I'm on there as well!
Here is an update on my setup:
I removed the holding tank in the back of my garage. I really didn't need it.
I had a calcium reactor set up, but since my angels wouldn't let me have corals, didn't really need a reactor.
I actually stopped doing frequent water changes and noticed my fish were healtier. Once in awhile during the regular water changes I noticed a few of my fish would get ich outbreaks, mainly my blue tang and the angels. Ever since I skipped my weekly 10% water change, not even a spec of ich has appeared on my blue tang. I have even shut down my UV sterilizer (also to save on $$). So now I do 15% every 2 months.
I should also mention I added 3 nitrate reactors. I basically filled 3 blue Walmart water jugs (I believe there 7 gallons each) with bio media and have a very slow flow rate through them. I haven't tested the output but I'm sure they have been reducing my nitrates along with my 30g fuge. I remember reading a post on reefcentral.com regarding this awhile back. As you can imagine I have a big bio load and no longer change water as often with no ill affects on my fish or remaining mushrooms and anemones.
Here is my latest additions after some issues with aggression...

The gang eating.
Sweet man, you know this is Jacques by the way right,
I wish I had the space to have a bunch of fish but the ol 6.6g doesn't have much room for fish. Although it is 24" long and not too loaded with rock so I'm thinking of pushing it with a pair of the smallest clowns I can find. I just love clowns, they move like a shark! Yea my mini refugium should be at my door either today or tomorrow. I got a Hammer coral and a little clam and a candycane yesterday too !! I also got a peppermint shrimp and some favia. So we're off to a good start. I've had it going now for only 2-1/2 weeks and the ammonia is 0, hope that doesn't spike
My pH is a little high (8.8)
And I'm getting some hair looking algae and some rusty looking stuff too, not a whole lot but its coming in.
By the way, me and Katie are coming to SD for her sisters wedding on Oct 17th and we'll be there for probably a week so as soon as I get dates we should try so setup a race, and I want to come check out your tank !!
opcorn:
I'm so bummed but this set up is for sale...
