      Our Indonesia Trip!

      Hey Guys!

We just got back from our Indonesia trip. We are in Taiwan right now, and will be leaving for San Diego tomorrow afternoon Our Indonesia trip was amazing! We got the chance to see our awesome supplier, as well as multiple collection sites! I will let the pictures do the talking. Here is our trip, enjoy the pix!!!

Here's a pix of Alice and I arriving in Jakarta Indonesia:

Only stayed in Jakarta for a few hours, then hopped on a plane to fly to Kuta, Bali:

The next morning at our hotel, beautiful place:

Now comes the good part! We first visited one of our supplier's station in Bali. This is one of the few stations where glass tanks were used to hold corals. Majority of the holding tanks are made from cement, built right on the floor (you guys will be able to see more of these in our later posts):

Walking to their larger cement holding ponds. Check out their fish system on our right side:

Here is a picture of one of their coral holding ponds. These are huge! over 15 feet long and 10 feet wide!

Looking around for some corals and came across this amazing red carpet! Metallic red even under natural sun light!

Took a shot of one of our nice bali brains that will be coming in in our new shipment:

Their large coral holding ponds, 3 tiers!

Here's a pix of Awang, our supplier's right hand man (on the left) one of our coral suppliers (in the middle), and the right one is me:

At the same station, the workers are unpacking some fish that just came in:

A shot of some new Pajama Cardinals that came in:

Picked out some really nice bright blue fuzzy shrooms as well as some incredible baby blue cloves! This pix is taken with flash, just imagine it under halides or actinics!

A couple of sweet fungias that were picked out:

Here's another shot of their 3 tier holding pond system:

Found a huge Blue Hippo Tang in one of the tanks. That one is around 10"!

Taking off from the Bali station and going to Gilimanuk to take a fairy to East Java!

On the mountain road, we saw a LOT of monkeys! Too bad we didn't have any fruits to feed these guys. One got so hungry it started to munch on its foot, lol!

So this today is coral hunting day!!! We went to 3 different collection sites. The first one was the biggest. Check out some pix!

      Anyone need some sun coral?

      A mixture of green brains:

Loads of Blue Xenia! Too bad these don't ship well.

Found this awesome orange/yellow tipped green cloves!

These suppliers always have green gonis in stock. But we don't like these so our supplier doesn't send them, how great is that!

Lots of fungias and tongue corals to choose from!

Out of the hundreds of fungias they have in stock, only picked out a couple of them:

Loads of cool Favias and Lobos!

Looking over the thousands of corals they had in stock, ran across these extremely unique "Tiger Sponges." These look incredible! We're going to try to get some of these in. They are tricky because they don't ship well, but we will try!

Found this cool Pink Eye Favia!

Check out these yellow tipped tunicate! Also a bright blue one!

      Blueberry gorgonia!

A very nice green and blue carpet lobo:

Headed out to our second stop for the day. This place was so difficult to find! The road (small little dirt path) leading to the facility was too small for our car to get in, so we walked.

Picture of one of the workers of the facility:

A little kid in a candy shop!

      Check out this gigantic elegance!

Beautiful XXL bright red rhodactis shrooms:

      Unique blue encrusting sponge:

      Flat scoly:

      More Corals!!!

This one is special. Flash shot so you can't really see the colors, but it has blue base with red eyes. Definitely rare!

So here are some pictures of how your corals are collected. Here are some shots of fishermen coming back with a batch of new corals!

And here was our third stop of the day. Another facility with their coral holding cement ponds:

We headed back to Jakarta to do some more cherry picking before heading home. At a large exporting facility in Jakarta, our supplier had picked out some nice zoas and palys for us to go through. Here are some pix of the facility first.

So many holding ponds, and each one is FULL of corals! I have never seen so many corals in my life!

Some pictures of our palys and zoas, that will be coming in soon! Can't wait!

Check out these metallic red with green eye palys! Flash shot only, these are incredible!

Baskets of first pick zoanthids and palys!

      Metallic reds!

      Bluer than blue palys!

Look at me, so hard at work, lol.

I got a lot of requests for enchinos and challices. Our supplier got in a shipment of these for us to pick through. Some nice ones are available!

There was a basket full of these amazing acan maximas and blastos. Just had to take a shot of them! I was drooling over these for long LONG time!

Check out this super unique teal/green acan maxima!
