with a reasonable amount of distance I wonder if a similar concept to stereo imaging would work here. Basically taking 3 cameras with individual unique settings linked together so they click at the same time. Think Matrix, but not in a circle. Hmmmmm, this might even create a better illusion of dimensionality. Darn you Minh, now you got me thinking

Took the camera with me in my weekly voyage to the reef Mecca: Scripps. Here's Scripps in HDR...

Got Bit By The HDR Bug

At first, some of the HDR images I saw online reminded me a of an old, psychedelic nuclear holocaust movie from the 1970's. But, I ran across some interesting ones and then saw the San Fransisco images in this thread. So, I had to try it out.

I was surprised to find the Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) function on my Rebel XTi. It allows me to snap the basic 3 different exposures continuously. Set to ISO 100, Av mode, manual focus and use a tripod and remote...

Then, I tried out the PhotoMatix demo software to create the HDR. ($99 for a 3 MB piece of software)

In case anyone out there is wondering about this: I tried to combine images by using Picasa's Multiple Exposure Collage. IT AIN'T THE SAME!!!

It can take more tweaking in the HDR software, but here's my yellow scroll:

Oh yeah, it can be overdone for sure. I like my HDR done like my steak, medium rare please

After finishing the repairs on a buddy's RC Heli, I took some HDR shots of it before our test flight today:

Sorry for the watermarks....still trying to decide between cash, corals or software or D) all of the above!

This shot was taken at night in the front of the house. I need to go hunt for some high/low contrast subjects!

Took this in January but Minh was kind enough to put the 3 images together for me. Not the best representation that HDR can make, but its still something to add to the thread

Very nice shot, Joe. But I think I'm even more impressed with your house and landscaping Nicely done.

Great handheld HDR shot, Jessy! This shot reminds me of something from a Kurosawa movie.
