David don't be a tease!
Ah, I guess that woulda helped huh?
Sorry guys, I was so tired after the install I forgot to take pics of what that part looked like. I went with Ecoxotic Cannons.
WOW! Very Nice. FTS ?
Hey David, Did you go with the 50 watt or 100 watt Ecoxotics, and how many of each color did you get?
Also, have you been able to determine the PAR for the units? I haven't seen any specifications for them.
Thanks, Steve.
I went with the 100w. 3x blue and 3x white.
I havent even tried to get a par reading on them. I've got the blues running 100% and the whites ~70%.
This is a crazy nice system. I could only dream of having something that nice. That's what u call a REAL REEF TANK

I think the Ecoxotics have the most intense shimmer effect I've seen....better even than halides. Do you agree?
Are your acros doing well under these lights? I've been considering them for some time.
[QUOTE=acronautical;815727]I think the Ecoxotics have the most intense shimmer effect I've seen....better even than halides. Do you agree? Better than halides? Come on Steve...no way Jose....you must be drinking the LED juice to think that. If it wasn't a power issue David would have his halides back in a heartbeat.
Hmm, I wasn't throwing that out there based on nothing! Seriously, I've been running my halides since 2007, but the Cannon Ecoxotic 100 watt units that I've seen have the most stunning shimmer effect I've seen. I'm not talking about the Ecotech Radions that many hobbiests are gravitating to. They have nice color but nominal shimmer effect. I think the difference is that the Cannon's are putting out 100 watts from a single source, not 34. I have been considering a change for some time and like the effect of the Cannon's, but I've never seen any thread or stat sheet on their performance with SPS (or any other corals for that matter). If David is successful with his, that might help to persuade me to make the move as well.
Ok folks, it's come to an end for me for now. It's all come down and ready for someone else to run with it.here's the link to nextdoor. hopefully it works.https://nextdoor.com/for_sale_and_fr...-62bccf3e9fef/
Bummer! Sorry to hear David
