Ric Yuma or Florida? Whats the real ID?!!

Just want to know if this is a Ric. Yuma or Florida, or what! Is it safe to frag? I've been doing a little research but i need to know which one exactly it is, thank you!

it's a yuma. it has the bumps around the mouth. Rics don't have it.

Yumas and Floridas are both Ricordea. This one is a Yuma

im not sure if you can frag them. seems like you would be able to because they are like a mushroom but not 100% sure

I think people have mixed results fragging yumas... that guy looks fairly large, it should eventually divide on its own if you want to play it really safe.

Rics are more likely to survive being cut in half or quarters
Yumas I would'nt even consider cutting in quarters, not worth the death rate IME
I prefer just feeding the heck out of my yumas and letting nature run it's course
if you wanna try, just try cutting in half, try to get an equal part of the mouth and foot on each half

Floridas will split readily on their own under the right conditions. With yumas, if you can see the foot stretching you might be able to get away with just cutting the streched part and hope it survives and forms a mouth. I agree with Scott though, yumas are touchy enough as it is. Better to let them make their own babies, which they do by moving and leaving a piece behind.

Alright, well ill play it safe then, it was just something i was looking into and found a few videos on youtube showing how it was done. Better safe then sorry, plus this guy wasn't that cheap. Thank you all for the information, always a big help.

Also, i've never fed it silversides but i am interested in trying, is there any certain way to prepare it, or can i just cut one in half and hand feed it. How often should i feed it, thanks!

Silversides seem a bit large for it. That would probably be something that is fed to a large rhodactus mushroom. I would just target feed it with coral foods and frozen cubed fish foods such as mysis or brine shrimp. Or maybe if you finely chopped/blended the silverside.
