simple settings

I have been playing with my XSI for a couple days now ,
I need so help from al you pro's out there. I think you owe seeing as most of your picture made me want to buy this thing HAHA. I

I can't seem to get the colors right what are a few simple settiings I can start with and try to go from there.. ISO , Av, Wb

did you calibrate your white balance?

I thought so maybe not

I don't remember much about photography, thats just the one thing that helped me get "truer" colors
I just use printer paper, aim my lights at it, then calibrate
