Question What Books do you guys Have in your Fish Library?

So I got to thinking after reading another Thread and Was wondering what books everyone owns on Reef & Marine Aquariums. Also which one is your Favorite. Tonight when I get home from work I will post what books I have and which ones are my Favorites.
So Lets see some lists of books everyone owns. Also if you have time give them a score 1-10 1= worst 10 being the best.

      Aquarium Corals, by Borneman (8)
      Marine Fishes, by Michael (8)

      I think that's it.

Been meaning to get some of Tullock's books, just haven't got around to it.

We should start a Book Loan program. Although, we'd probably need some form of collateral the way things have been going around here lately. =[

Yeah, there's always the Conscientious Marine Aquarist (Fenner), and Aquarium Corals (Borneman) and the various fish books by Scott Michaels. Great books, thumbs up to those guys.

Some other books that I wind up using a lot: Natural Reef Aquariums by Tullock - it's a general guide like CMA, but a little bit more hands-on and practical imo. Also, the various "Invertebrates" and "corals" etc books by Julian Sprung are GREAT identification guides.

Just so I'm not one of the 100 viewers that didn't post....

The Complete book of the Marine Aquarium V.B. Hargreaves - ?
The Aquarium Fish Handbook D. Mills and D. Lambert - ?

No score because i read about 300000 forum posts before picking the books up...didn't learn too much. I'm just a beginner though, tank's been up about one month in 3 days.

Anyone want to let me borrow Fenner's book? I'll give you almost anything I have as collateral if you really need it. I just want to borrow it for a week or so and read as much of it as I can. Then might end up going out to pick it up, but don't exactly have the $$ for it right now (book fund got diverted into PC lightin fund). PM me if you're up for it. Thanks a lot!

Most of the stuff you read on forums has to be taken with a grain of salt. There is a lot of conflicting and miss information out there. Many times people are just making stuff just to get there thread count go high, I know I do…….jk...

From books you get advise from people that have been doing this for more than 2 years. Plus you get pretty pictures.

      The Conscientious Marine Aquarist-Fenner (9)
      Natural Reef Aquariums-Tullock (9)
Both of these are great for beginners through advanced aquarists.

      Aquarium Corals-Borneman (9)
A very good book for coral info, plus tons of good pics.

      Reef Secrets-Nilsen and Fossa (10)
A good all around book. It has a little of everything from aquarium setup to stocking tips, to care info for most common inverts and fish.

      Invertebrates-Sprung (9)
Covers inverts, including some soft corals (zoanthids and mushrooms) and anemones.

      Reef Fishes Vol 1-Michael (?)
Just got it, but it looks nice and it goes into great detail.

      Fishes-Moyle and Cech (7)
Basic icthyology textbook. Covers both fw and sw fish.

      Invertebrate Zoology-Ruppert and Barnes (7)
Invert texbook, can be hard to read (like most textbooks)

Plus a large variety of other marine bio texts, but none are directed towards hobbyists.

It seems like ALOT of people seem to find the "Conscientious Marine Aquarist" and the "Reef Fishes" (all the volumes )

So I'll lok into those. Man, the cost of all those books, I could be buying more live rock. lol. But what good would live rock be if I killed it by using the advice given by some of these local shops...

      Thx

Talking You will keep what you learn forever

Unlike your live rock which made fade and die during time. The information you learn should stay with you for a lifetime. That being said Try here it will make your pocket hurt a little less.

Besides Bikerboy, We all know that you need some guidance. Along time ago back in the Pet supply Warehouse days. I worked for them for a summer. First thing I recommended to anyone was to pick up a book.
