Hit inputs, scroll down to highlight your SL1 and hit enter. Scroll down to highlight ph, hit enter. Highlight calibrate, hit enter. Place the probe in ph10.00 solution. Wait for the "raw" data number to slow down and remain steady between 4 or 5 numbers. Hit enter and repeat the process with the probe in the ph7.00 solution. When you hit enter, it will save. Back out until you get back to the home screen. You're done.

*** Make sure you update the SL1 firmware to v1.12. You can get it at http://forum.digitalaquatics.com

What type of devices do the "switch" ports control?

They really don't control anything. Switch ports are a form of input that the controller can then react to. Basically, each switch port has two connections or terminals... one is a ground, the other has a small signal voltage (usually 5VDC); if a switch of some sort is connected, then the controller can sense whether the swicth is open or closed and act according to programming.

The most common use is with float switches to allow the controller in turn to control a pump for ATO.

I use the switch ports on my AC3 to initiate feed and maintenance cycles... there are two momentary pushbutton switches mounted on the back of my canopy, which are wired into my controller.... when one is pushed for a few seconds, my controller shuts down my return, CL, and skimmer pumps for 15 minutes (feed cycle). The other pushbutton does the same thing, but for 30 minutes (used during filter sock changes, water changes, etc.)

Thanks Russ. Anybody know where I can get a bnc extension for the ph probe? I need to extend it about another 2'-3'. I tried radio shack and they didn't have any in stock. i don't have any crimpers to make one either.

I'm producing a series of training videos for the ReefKeeper series, I hope this will be helpful to the new ReefKeeper owner! The first, ReefKeeper EliteV2 Basic Installation:

hmm... so that SL2 is coming out soon... I was wondering if theres any backfeed or other problems with running the SL2 and SL1... I'm thinking that I want to run two temp probes, one in the water and one out of the water... is that feasable?

The SL2 has the probe inputs isolated between each other. This also means that they are isolated from other modules. Some people were having problems with interferance using multiple SL1's so DA redesigned the probe part on the SL2. You should not have any issues. I am currently running two SL1's and one SL2 on my system (for about a month now) and have no issues at all with all three of them.

Considering getting a controller. Been reading up on this alot. What is the difference between the RKE (PLUS) and the RKE(with net). The RKE (with NET) is $100 more...why?

It just has to do with the modules and probes that come with it. The NET version includes the NET module which allows for connection to the internet. That is what the $100 is for.
