      Plumbing

Yesterday i plumbed my sump to my tank finally and it seems to be a little loud. is this normal? the water flow doesnt bother me its the PVC it makes like popping noises when the overflow gets a hickup and expels more water.

I also did some plumbing this weekend and also have a leak at one of the elbows. Short of replacng the elbow and redoing it, is there a possible fix? I tried adding more weldon to the joint, but it still leaks.
      I feel your pain !

when you glue PVC - clean, prime, glue coat, and when pusing them together, make sure that you twist/rotate the pipe in the joint, at least a 1/4 turn as you push them together -- a lot of people dont twist the joint, they just shove it straight together and that leads to leaky glue joints.

There was some infomercial I saw where they were selling epoxy, just like what we use, and they showed it sealing a leaky pipe.
      Never tried it, but maybe.
But my exp, once it's wet, nothing seals.

pardon my slight hi-jacking here, but what are people using for flexible pvc to solvent fittings? Red Hot Blue? Something special? The Red Hot Blue says it works with flexible and rigid pvc, so by their account, should work...but looking for personal experiences.

      Thanks.

Either the red hot glue or even the clear PVC solvent would work. I plumbed my last setup using the clear PVC solvent with flex PVC and it worked great. Just make sure that you clean the surfaces first and put enough glue on both ends.
