      DIY Chiller?

Not sure if this is even feasible, but I saw this 1/12 hp refrigeration unit at Surplus Center for $30. Anyone ever seen/done a DIY chiller?

I doubt it's practical to use for an aquarium... it's only rated at 200BTU - even the tiny JBJ Nano Artika is @ 600 BTU.

I can't remember where I read it, but there was an entire thread on reef central about how impractical those refrigerator/chiller mods are. I would just wait till one pops up for sale on here...

Basically, if it doesn't have enough BTU's it's just not going to work unfortunately.
