My first attempt at a FW Planted

Just got my first planted tank a couple days ago. (Thanks to Diana, (Haeun)
I moved everything to a 29g I had and added a few more plants. I am totally open to any suggestions If you have any. I'm also looking for a small peice of driftwood maybe 8-10" if anyone has some and a good local place to get FW plants. Here are a few pics.

The 18g i got from Diana followed by the 29g I moved it toWaters still a little cloudy from moving stuff around. I love the Riccia. It alsmost looks like FW gsp.

Yep, Riccia is beautiful. Try experimenting with Riccia and java moss intertwined - really interesting look.

I like the tank a lot. You might try hiding the eheim intake tube by putting it behind a piece of long driftwood.

For freshwater plants, the best I've seen is Tri City Tropicals when they are fully stocked. There are two big glass tanks right when you walk in. Aquatic Warehouse also has a pretty good selection.

P.S. I assume you know this, but be careful with the exposed top edge of the glass and resting those driftwood pieces on it. I have a larger piece of mopani (maybe 10" high) that I don't need. It has been sealed. PM me if interested.

Thanks socal. Yeah, when I was thinking of covering up the intake for the filter. I went to tricity yesterday and they do have some good prices on their plants and some nice ones, but they were not fully stocked. AW is too much $$$ IMO. Sending you a pm for the driftwood. Heres a couple of updated pics with newlights and a few more plants.

I suggest a CO2 reactor (even a DIY yeast one works) growth + fertilizer will increase growth up to 40%. I find the Tetra unit works well because of the diffuser plate that it comes with ($30).

I'm a Discus fan. They are docile. My personal fav is the snakeskin.

It has a diy co2 on it. I like discus also, but this tank is too small for discus.
But if this tank goes like my reef tanks did, I'll probably have a 200g by the end of the year.

      Just imparting some tips:

      1) Less is more. It is more aesthetically please to have no more than 2-4 variety of plants in a tank. Just have more of the same species cover the tank.
      2) Remember Minh's "Golden Rule of thirds"? Even more important in freshwater tanks.

Yeah no kidding. You went from like a 20g to a 180? or so in about 4 months, didn't you? I know I'm leaving out the 2 other tanks you had going for a while in Scala.

For the plants in the tank...consider what type of look you're going for, and how it'll look when it's grown in. Less types of plants usually look better IMO, but it's up to you.

They're hiding right now, but if I see some I'll post some pics.

My freshwater 75g needs some serious attention. I still don't understand the whole fertilizer thing. And I need more plants.

Got the riccia at OG. It's attached to a couple of rocks.
