      Arrowana

Where can I get a fairly priced pair of arrowanas? I just need a simple silver pair for the parents, no need for the blue-fin ($399) breed.

      Any and all opinions welcome.

      Thanks in advance.

      I'll check out goldfish world....

I currently have a 75g waiting for them. I saw juvies @ AW for $15 but they tend to die I hear.

My parents don't need the nice black ones, I'd love to get them a pair but they'd be bummed that I spent that much for them. Thanks though

My parents have a green aro w/certs in a 75g and the thing is getting way too big for it now. My older brother got it for them a while back when it was about 2"...it's now maybe 13" or bigger. It was for sale at one point, but not sure how much my brother was letting it go for.

Please keep in mind that a 75g tank will be too small to house 2 aro's unless you plan to upgrade in the future.

Could not agree with pako more. In a few months you are gonna need a bigger tank. For two large silvers you are gonna need at least a 180. These fish can get up to 36 inches long! If housed in an aquarium that is too small they develop curvatures of the spine and similar deformations. It reallyis sad to see. If you're going to get two of these beautiful fish, please do so responsibly and get the the size aquarium that they require. Please!

Once these come into season, you can get them for less than 10 dollars. Higher death rates for the young ones but once the eggsacs are gone you should be good. You want the youngest ones you can get and raised together since they tend to be agressive towards each other, thats why a trio or more is recommended. You will need a huge tank because the silver I had was getting cramped in the 180.
