BTW, if it's Kohji that's selling these, tell him I said "Hi" but it could be someone who bought the set from him, too. Kohji had a gorgeous SPS tank and spent a small fortune on those Nova IIs. Those Giesemann wall-mounts alone are worth a small fortune!

Here's the light spillage on the Nova IIs. This ancient shot of the nano was taken with all the light in the room turn off but when the rest of the room lighting is on, it's not as noticable:

Those are nice lights, and a good deal.
I personally would add a T5 unit to it, JMO.
It could still be suspended in a light box if built right, and that's what I'd do, but hey I'm a carpenter so easy for me.
I didn't see it on CL when I glanced through just now, if it is still available I wouldn't lag.

Dave, I'm curious why the T5s supplements are important to you? A longer tank (36"+) may benefit from multiple points light sources if you're using a single or double halide setup. However, on a 30" long tank, those two Nova IIs should cover the spread and then some.

Regarding moonlights, they are quite neat looking and I'm in favor of them. I think these PowerBrites should be an elegant solution for your set up.

No pics yet, my lights will be here tomorrow along with my controller. Still waiting on my marco rock but it should be here any day now. Oh the waiting is killing me. But patience is virtue in this hobby right????????

I personally love T5 and MH combo for the reason they have such good PAR rating w/ less heat.
Also, you have more adjustment on color preference, as well as warm up/cool down period.

I like the ability to mess with the light colour by swapping t5s and i like the dusk and dawn effect by having the t5s turn on before and off after thee halides.

I feel you there cartmen,,I have all this equip for my new tank, but it seems an impossibility to get it built, im just anxious

Right, that's one benefit of running T5s/MH combo. In regards to added PAR/intensity, you won't get much with the bluer T5 lamps over the Nova IIs (regardless of most MH lamps). The PowerBrites mentioned earlier should be a much cheaper/more efficient option for dusk/dawn effect than T5s though.
