      no bubbles in the skimmer?

Just bought a used venturi type skimmer and tried it out. I only saw big bubbles forming a tornado shape, instead of tiny bubbles as I usually see in other skimmers. Is this skimmer broken? If so, is it worth to try to fix it? Thanks for your help

What's the brand of the skimmer and pump? If the pump is working but not producing small bubbles then there's something wrong with the venturi or air connection to the venturi. Got a picture of the pump/venturi?

Might sound stupid. But you do have it in saltwater. I tried one skimmer in fresh water and didn't know it would make bubbles. I felt so dumb.

Details are always good....lets get some...Can you hear the Pump sucking air in? Also you could run the skimmer in a vinagar and water solution to clean it that could help.

Marine depot says that a little big of a pump There site recommended

flow rating of 600-900 gph (we recommend the Mag Drive 700 and/or the Rio 2100)

      ?????
      Water sprays out of the
      Turbo•Eductor air intake.
Pump pressure is too high. Use a ball valve or other flowrestrictor
      to decrease pump
      pressure, or use an
      appropriately sized pump.

Thanks Rudy, Minh, Eric, and Trickman for all your great help.

I did not know that SW will make a difference . I was trying FW today. Just switched to SW and it worked! Millions of tiny bubbles.

      Thanks again
