i went away from chemicals all together and went natural...peppermint shrimp. the peps i bought here locally didn't eat any aptasia, but then i got some off of reeftopia (see my group buy threads every other week) and they cleaned out my whole tank in just a few days! pm me if you want to be on the next group buy and i'll put you on my list...

I never had any luck with squirting them with anything, or peps. I read up a little on it and found the berghia nudis and Tim gave me the advice of a copperbanded butterfly, with this combo. my sea of aptaisas is 99% gone, with the exceptions of some inside the overflow which I think is a great natural filter.

I've seen that some people have had luck with vinegar. I have a couple small ones I want to get rid of, and was wondering if it would work to soak a bamboo skewer in vinegar then poke the Apitasia with it a few times.

Has anyone tried aptasia x yet? From what I understand about this product it basically glues the tentacles together and starves the aptasia since they are not able to feed. AW recommends it and says it works great...just wondering if the same thing would be possible with good old super glue?

Aptasia X works well. Just have to keep at it.

i've used aiptasia x and it seems to have worked well so far. it's only been about 4 days and the ones i zapped are still gone. the nice thing about this product is that it gives 2 different syringes including and angled needle to make it easier.

Tried some aptasia control today, so far looks like it may have worked but all of my aptasia were small, the largest ones were only about 2 inches max.

I got a couple Peppermint Shrimp to clean mine up, but so far they haven't. I've had luck with the pasty white aptasia control, but some of them are popping up too close to other things that I'm afraid of collateral damage.

aiptasiaX from redsea is my current favorite, been playing with it at work (PK) and seems to work much better than JJ or anything else I tried
Looks like the same kalk paste, but there is some other chemical in there too, cause the bottle is turning purple???

Aptasia -X. Good stuff. It is very reactive with salt water, and kills them quite quickly. Mojanos too....... but it is a constant battle.

I have used the aptasia control and it worked really well for me. One dose on the little buggers is all it took. Overall I was really satisfied with it, never tried the others though.
