Anyone know how to figure out proper spacing for baffles in a sump? I am putting three baffles in an acrylic tank that is 48x24x24 that I am using for a sump. I am not sure how far apart I need them. Any ideas or experience with this?

Check this website out. I used it when I was designing my sump. But I have someone else building it for me.

a lot of good information.
Yea I forgot about Mr. Levinson's site. I was just reading through it.
And as far as flow goes, I will be running two GenX 40 pumps for my return at 1190gph each. One will feed my fuge and chiller and the other will feed straight to the tank. After plumbing, they will be pushing 807gph each, according to the Reefcentral calc.

I got my new sump last night. I did 4 baffles and spaced them 1.75 apart. I think you should go around 1.5 apart and add an extra one. I will post pics tonight of my new sump.
Approx how much flow do you have runing through the baffles Eric?

around 1400 gph. I have two tanks going into the sump.
Nice! I should have talked to you before I designed my sump. My baffles are nothing more than a rollercoaster ride for my bubbles

I got mine from SDA619. The best work I have ever seen.
I have a tarpon going in as my return pump. I can't wait. I will have a total of 100 times turn over in the tank.
I have mine at 1 inch and have had NO problems with bubbles. My flow is very low though.
