      The "Vinny Hose"

I got a Scripps fill up hose from Vinny a while back and just recently got the oppertunity to use it. It works great. I used to wait for about 10 minutes to fill up each of my 55g drums, and that is if nobody else is already there. Now I just drive up, hook up to the fat monster pipe and let her rip. Fills my 55g drum in less than two minutes. It is easy to handle and well built.

If you use large containers for collecting saltwater at SCripps, get one of these hoses from Vinny. It is well worth the very modest price tag.

Thanks Vinny. I'm gonna need it to get this 300 up and running.

So much better.... no more waiting to use the small faucet or waiting for the small hose to fill 55gal drums. And it has a nice valve for on/off so you're not splashing all over the place while you're turning the faucet off.

      3 hoses left

Thanks guys. Glad it makes your life easier! It sure is a lot faster and nice not to have to wait for others to fill up! The price is still 37 bucks. That's what it costs to make them. No reason to turn a profit, just givin back to a reefer what was givin to me.

      Here you go...

Hopefully Vinny doesn't mind me showing off his handy work. I think when I added up just the parts themselves they cost about what he charged me for it. And that was without the tubing or the time to build it.

Is that 2" or 1 1/2"? Thanks, anyone.

It is a 2" fitting at the standpipe connector.

      hose sizing

The standpipe at scripps is 2" FNPT. There are still 3 hoses left if anyone wants one.

I am truly amazed that the black garden hose that I put there about 5 months ago is still there. And now, thanks to Vinny's project, I don't even use the garden hose anymore.

That's the first time I've ever seen a picture of the scripps water hose. (never been down there). So people normally use the normal black garden hose at the bottom to fill up, and now they can use the much larger opening at the top above the valve? (with "the viny hose"?)
