      Christmas work parties

      So how was your corporate "Holiday" party? My two partners and I took our wives out to Donovan's for dinner. It was the first annual Coast2Coast Christmas party. Great food, great company, great wine, etc.

      My wife's company party was fabulous as well. They did a dinner at the South Coast Winery, which I highly recommend, and we had great food and wine. The best part was my wife winning an award for Employee of the Year for the San Diego office. And then they also gave her an award for Employee of the Year for the entire company. She got 2 big bonus checks and two pieces of engraved glass. I was extremely proud of her. Of course I kept thinking of how many corals I could buy with her bonus checks!

      How was yours???

      I am a teacher so we cant use tax dollars for a christmas party. We had ours at JoltN' Joes in La Mesa. It cost each of us $20 for us and $20 for our spouse. WE had tacos and a keg. It was still fun though.

      We had our annual christmas party for the whole Plant. Lots of food, lots of raffle prizes! Good times! All our vendors supplied some real *****en prizes! Probably 300+ employees that maintain the campus day in and day out. Its nice to see everyone. Half of the team I never see cause they work nights. Nobody won any awards but several congratulations for an accident free year and some nice words about a couple people who passed away. Its a shame though that we only have time once a year to all come together! Damn workaholics!

      SDCOE = lameness party.

      Sheraton = Pretty fun party (for a work party). I had me a whole mess of food and drinks. 8 enchiladas, couple of chunks of chicken, four or five slices of perfectly cooked roast beef, cake, and the best part was the two free drink tickets with entry. Rose isn't 21 yet, so I got me 4 tickets! Waddling to the car was kinda hard, however.

      My wife works for a company called Cogent Systems and every year they have the really cool parties at awesome spots. One year it was at the Long Beach Aquarium which was held after hours and every kid recieved $25 to shop at the store. This year it was at the Art's Museum somewhere in LA and did the same thing with $$$ for the kids. Oh, did I mention their give aways!!! This year they were giving away Wii's, iPod, and iPhones and I told my wife that if she won an iPhone that it would be mine. And sure enough her name got called and I went up to get the prize and it was an iPhone.
      Now, I'm not the kind of person that has to have the latest greatest phone there is, but let me say that this phone is amazing. The wife didn't want the it becuase she thinks it's too complicated...so Merry X-mas to me.

      Sony has rented out Petco Park for the last 2 Xmas parties. We basically own the Western Metal building for the night with the field all lit up. It's a pretty swanky deal with tons of food, fat Sony raffle (Bravias and such), open bar, DJ and live band, etc. Pretty cool

      Not as "swanky" as yours. Our was at the Bonita Golf Club. Did get a $1000 bonus though. But for some reason it ended up in the wifey's purse. Won a big bottle of Crown Royal that i'll be re-gifting.
