I think we should have a DIY section where we can share how to make things like homemade:
chillers
skimmers
air silencers
reactors(I can make good carbon and phosban reactors)
etc.

That would be great, I second that idea!
Interesting Idea - but - Reef Central has this as we all know. Should we just work within that, since most DIY is not a local thing?
(Except for Scripps water hoses!
Some people can't stand RC, like me. I would rather see it here.......or maybe put up a DIY section with links to the material?
I am with Mike. I asked if we could have this a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggg time ago. It would be better here, because of the nature of DIY. If you are doing it, it is nice to have a local who can help, and will respond to your posts without condescension.
OK, understood - then I am your whiz kid on electrical/electronics issues and how to make a tank's plumbing systems all run silently. Utterly clueless on livestock, and anything alive in the tank.Originally Posted by Techknowledgy
That's the spirit. Local talent! I can help with the second part!

What can't you stand from Reef Central.Originally Posted by mikebo502

There are too many pages to fumble through to find what you want. Also, RC is also very crowded and there are many people that are not helpful and/or rude. That is not to say there aren't helpful people there, but I would rather not deal with it either way. There is a better opportunity to learn from a smaller forum because almost every voice is heard.
the good thing about having a local DIY page is that you can go "up close and personal" with a local person who is doing things. Face to face, the good old fashioned way!
Technoviking??? How about it????
Victor added one on the SDMAS site:

I think that is a pretty good concenses. Can you make it happen Technoviking or does Jason or Moore or whomever have to approve this too?
