I have ran my vortech's for 11 months already basically 24/7. Not one problem. Not one odd rattle or issue. I just can't see me ever getting rid of them. I just recently cleaned the wet side for the first time and was amazed that the cleaner they are, the more rip they really have. I guess I will try to keep them cleaner now. I love them...
i love my vortech.
that is...
until my mother decided to dunk my vortech dry side into my tank.
any chance i can do anything to revive my vortech, like replace a part or something, or am i simply going to have to buy a new one?
so i wanted some opinions, i have a aquapod 24 with mostly sps in the tank. went to pet kingdom the other day and thought i would ask one of the guys their opinion on putting a MP10 in my AP24, he said it would be way to much flow for my tank and you cant direct the flow of the water other than straight. anyone have any ideas or experience with a vortech pump in a AP24 gallon tank and if it would be a good pump to buy. thanks again
I have an mp10 in a 34g solana. I have sugar fine sand so I can't turn it all the way up but there is a ton of flow without it being overkill. I don't care if you can't point it in a certain direction, its broad enough to get everywhere in the tank.
Your sps will love you for it, mine are loving me
No way, the guys at Pet Kingdom have no idea what they're talking about then.
I have a MP10 on my 10 gallon, and I have it at about 50%? You can't direct the flow, because the flow is so dispersed that it goes EVERYWHERE in your tank, which is fantastic! It's even better for SPS tanks. Look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRf6R...eature=related
You can turn it down to 500 gph, on the lowest, and that's very dispersed 500 gph too so it's not a problem at all. You most likely won't keep it on the lowest setting though; it's definitely not too much flow for your tank.
I love my MP10 and would gladly pay every penny for one again.

I hAVE 3/4 thick acrylic tank?
thanks guys for the feed back i figured the guy didnt know what he was talking about LOL im deff gonna get a MP10 for my AP24 cant wait to get rid of my bulky koralias
Here's mine on a BC-14, it's an awesome pump!
The few complaints I -would- have about the MP10 is that it gets a little noisy for me when I have it on the highest flow. Also, the MP10 errors when you accidentally set the auto-turnoff calibration, and you have to re-cycle the pump. It's not hard, just annoying when you accidentally push too many buttons at once.
