      I wholeheartedly agree with Mazilla.

I've had just a couple of less-than-pleasant experiences doing transactions with folks here, but doing business with people here has been overwhelmingly positive for me. In fact, by far the worst experience I had was with a guy who's a longtime regular here and seemed to have a great reputation for both buying and selling. In this case, his "feedback" was "positive", but I wasted a bunch of time and gas trying to complete a deal with this guy - three times he flaked!

This isn't MooresList or reefBay, and I'd rather not see SDReefs become too focused on selling/buying/trading; IMO, a feedback system would just contribute to this.

You just gave an example of why it would be nice to have...

Actually, it was an example of why feedback wouldn't have helped.

Was there written documentation saying that this guy was great to deal with or just "word of mouth?" In my opinion two different things, thus the need for feedback.

Mainly a lot of "thanks for the xyx coral, great to meet you" kind of posts" which to me comprise a form of informal positive feedback.

there is no point in getting revenge via a bad rating. is it really gonna make a difference? when that one thing you want really bad comes up for sale, are you gonna pass on it because of somebody else's opinion on the moral fortitude of the seller? Say your breaking down a tank and somebody wants the entire setup, are you not gonna sell it to them based on the opinion of somebody else?

If you cant get over somebody occasionally wasting your precious time, you may as well off yourself, because life is full of time wasted.

      Don't be so dramatic maz.

People already give reviews of sellers/buyers all the time, just as Russ pointed out above. Having it in a specific location and/or format seems like a logical idea to me.

you guys are being dramatic, im trying to say get over it and move on. if you get screwed by somebody, it's up to the individual to recall who they do and dont want to do buisness with in the future. I'm just not a big fan of judging a book by it's cover, and i would give a damn about the "rating" a person had. However you guys decide to do buisness is on you, i'll be buying the stuff from the people everybody is afraid to deal with. If you get screwed during a buisness transaction, thats your own stupidity.

      EDIT:

maybe "its needed" is too inflamatory (you think?)...how about we just say, "i would use it"...
