      Koralia 4

Just swapped out my Rio 2500 for two of these in my 125 long. They are both at one end of the tank, and they give absolutely perfect flow. I highly recommend them!
      Edit by popular demand:
The flow pattern on a K4 is not only wide, but it is in a large V. Two seperate streams at about a 30 degree anfle from each other, it's like having 2 600gph powerheads (which is pretty awesome!). Use the tips that come with the kit. They improve flow dramatically.

      Nick's K4 Review

I bought the first series of K4's when they first came out and I was definatley impressed by the amount of flow they produce, definatley best bang for the buck.

      Pros:
      High Flow
      Wide Pattern
      Low Power Consumption
      Easy to Clean

      Cons:
Lousy Magnet, once you passed the 1/2" thick glass or acrylic, it's preety much useless
The Older Model Shaft is made out of some kind of metal and I know it will rust throught its life time
Bulky, it's the same size as seio 1100

Tack this on: The flow pattern on a K4 is not only wide, but it is in a large V.

It is wide if you put on the tip, trust me, I was running it without the tip attachment and it was stirring up my sand and airating my water surface, then i looked in the box and saw the tip. I put it on and it is like a 4 inch wide flow pattern right out of the nozzle.
I am very happy with it now...

      smaller tank

Anyone got 1 or 2 of these on a 60g? I was thinking of putting 2 of these in a 60g show. Its only sps so I figured they wouldn't be overkill. Any recommendations? Or suggestions?

I have two K4's on my 75 mixed and everyone is doing great! No deadspots and lots of movement!
Yours is a tall 60 right? I think two would be perfect at the bottom going towards the surface.

I would go with one Vinny, until you see what it does. Or check out the flow in another tanks first. The flow pattern is more like a constant current that a steady stream.

i have 2 of these on my 65 and im not a huge fan of the flow pattern.but it does put out a good deal of water.i took the strainer and cut every other piece of plastic out so that the strainer wasnt taking up as much space and it seems to have greatly improved water movement btw.

Good thinking....... I am more after the moving wall of water notion. My strainers are both in. It seems to me it would not be so hard to retro something on the tips that would "spin" with the flow. Have to look into that.

I have 2 K4's and whenever I turn 1 of them off, my midas blenny swims to it and sit inside. I alway have to remember to see if the midas is in there before I turn it on.

haha yeah, I had a flame tail blenny that loves to eat the algae inside the koralia and just sits there without a care in the world when the pumps are off too.

      I got 2 Koralia 2's for my 90 tall, I think I should have gotten 3's
      1-400 gph, 2-600 gph, 3-850 gph, 4-1200 gph
But they work great, I love em, nice install. I wish they had a little more range of motion on ball joint so I could point them a little further down though.
I ran them without the tips to get wider flow but remembered these posts and now have the tips on to get stronger (deeper) flow, more circulation. I think Id like larger ones without the tips on to get a wider flow pattern maybe. But I get good swirl around all my filter feeders.
Has anyone tried to clean them by taking them apart yet? Ive just left mine alone so far, but will probably have to do this.
Some fish like to perch or sleep on the back of them too, Chromis, Blenny, and Tang. Lanmower Blenny sometimes tries to eat the algae on the front and gets blown away, then goes back for more, its funny. No injuries so far also.
