      FW stocking

im looking to stock my 75 gallon FW planted tank.

im kinda thinking of getting all tiger barbs, with a few other suitable fish.
but are these ok with plants?
and if so, how many do you think i could get in my 75 gallon.
      i have ecocomplete about 3-4"
      with some driftwood.
other fish would probably be corys, clown loach, or gourami.
      thanks

clown loaches will get too big for the tank, they will also probably nose around in the plants too much. you can get a bunch of tiger barbs in there, i would get somewhere around 20 of the black striped and 15 of the white striped and see how they do and depending on how much plants you have you can add more or take some out, but that tank should support a lot more than 35. they will be fine with plants but the gouramies might be too slow around feeding time and get nipped up. adding a bunch of cories and a fancy pleco or two would be cool, maybe something like a gold nugget.

yea i know the loaches would get too big.
but im only gonna keep this tank for probably 3 more years until college.
do you think i could do about 15 or so each of green, albino and regular?

I think you will be fine with that much, the plants do a lot for filtration and i've always overstocked planted tanks, always did fine and looked great as long as they have enough room to swim. clown loaches grow slooow so you will be ok there if you get them small enough, you can resell them later anyways.

buy some biospira first and you can but you should just cycle with all the other fish and then when its established dump all the barbs in at once.

barbas tend to kill each other until you have 0 left, I would avoid them unless you really want them. They will also pick on less aggressive fish.

check out my thread, I was going to make my 240 into a FWP and this was some of my stocking list.

I don't know about the barb behaviors, but as far as stocking go, if you have a lot of plants (especially medium to fast growing plants) you can go ahead.
