I don't know but I found one a few weeks ago swimming like crazy in the top corner of the tank. I scooped and flushed him JIC. I wonder what this worm is? Anyone have any ideas?
I had one the other night, about 2mm wide and probably 1.5" long, frantically swimming around the tank. My cleaner shrimp got a portion of it, tried to eat it, and I noticed that the water in the vicinity immediately got cloudy.
Probably some for of polycheate worm. When they breed they become full of gametes, either egg or sperm, and go to the surface of the ocean at night in the millions. They can get so full of gametes that if you try to pick them up they just break and sperm and egg go every where. My guess would be that that is what the cloud was. Sperm or egg. I'll try to find a link. I'm sure we can't nail down the species but i would guess it's probably a polycheate worm filled with egg and sperm.

Here's some info. Again, I don't expect the worms in your tank to match these images, just that it's probably a related animal and the behavior may be the same.

D'oh, forgot the link.

That's how I got 1,117 posts I guess.
It does sounds like that's what it was ... it looked like a translucent spaghetti noodle ...
thanks for the link Fishbulb, I think you may be on to something. I didn't really notice any features of the worm because I really couldn't see it (lights were off). Yeah, the worm doesn't match the images but it may have been one of these.
hm mine looked like normal earth worms, but much shorter and thinner.
yeah, mine didn't have any features. It just looked like a plain worm.
