I have one of Peter's original pieces of Interceptor that he was gracious enough to PIF to me, if you decide to nuke the lil buggers, PM me for the stuff.
Blast them off with a turkey baster and then use interceptor on each colony you see thats infected. Get a microscope too because they are soo small. They eat the skin of the acro so they are bad.
Interceptor worked for me. I did two doses. Keep in mind that it will kill any shrimp that you have in the tank as well as all of your pods. )I miss my pods)

Bad idea. Why would you want to spread them around first with the turkey baster?Originally Posted by Som1else

Do you have them all over your tank?. IME you can lugols dip to kill them but I dipped and shook the crap out of all the rock too. Interceptor is full proof and your best bet it works great. But if you cant locate interceptor and you only have a few red bugs on a few corals then you should be able to dip the coral in a heavy lugols and shake, let sit for a while shake , it has worked for me in the past on numerous ocassions.
Im pretty concerned about nuking my tank with interceptor. Im not going to be able to catch all my inverts and the thought of killing off the species that I have worked so hard to build just doesnt sit well with me. Im gonna do some more research, but thanks for all your advice.
It only affects crustaceans. Not snails, clams, tubeworms, or any other invert.Originally Posted by rhinochaser

^^ditto.
Too clarify about the nutrients....
The worst cases of red bugs I see are ones in which the tanks are overfed and water changes are rarely done. I have no articles to back this up, just an observation over the years.
