      source for deionized water

I was driving on Miramar and noticed that a store was selling deionized water for $0.08/gallon. It is an auto detailing store. I don't recall the address, but it is next to a high-end (green sign) auto repair/seller, between the 5 and 805. He flushes the water through two filters to ensure that the water is very clean.

Anyone with a TDS meter that wants to check this out??? Pretty cheap for clean water... It sure beats AW price per gallon.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed with the 000 reading on my TDS meter when I was testing Stan's water he got from Miramar. I tested the local water vending machine and it was 45. Heck, I tested my raw tap water and it measured 350+...doh! At 8 cents a gallon, Stan...that water cant be beat. -Mel

      Woo hoo!

This is good to hear... especially since I need to buy about 50 gallons to mix some saltwater (Thanks to all the storm-action).

Stan: Any more details on where it is? North/South side of the street, etc?

Call me lame, but I couldn't find it. Does anyone have an address or a business that is next to it or the business name or any distinguishing landmark?

I don't know if the price changed or not, the vending machine infront of the k-mart at corner of Clairmont Mesa and Convoy was 25 Cents.

I used to use the water there, just wondering how's the quality of water from that machine.

7938 Miramar Road. It's called the Detail Store, next to Babelli's (i'm not sure about the spelling). There is usually an A sign posting Deionized water, 8 cents.

If you can't find it now....

filter direct on ebay has a model available that cant be beat as far price. for under $100 i got a 100gpd 5 stage RO/DI that works like a charm. i got the hose adapter and hooked it up to the coldwater supply to our extra whasher. it could just as easily be conected to a garden hose. in the long run it may work out to be cheaper, and if anything else it is very nice to have it right there at all times just in case....
