      So the eductor basically just forces the water into a more powerful stream?

      I would imagine that the water in your refugium would become stagnant (at least on the surface) due to there not being any surface-skimming...

      No, when the water jet hits the low pressure area created by the holes around the base of the jet nozzle, it creates drag within the eductor that pulls up to 5x the volume of water that is actually being pushed through the feeding line.

      kinda like this illustration here:

      The water coming from the eductor is slow, well dispersed, and in a wide beam. Much better than the normal high velocity jet, that normally come from power heads that can even be dangerous to some corals.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      My refugium is going to be fed by a spraybar that will break the surface of the water Thanks for looking out.
      Well, I just think that these things are cool cuz they help us keep pumps out of our aquariums and if you find all the parts in black, they are almost invisible in your tank.
      I only use two pumps, the skimmer pump and my return pump and I get more and better quality flow now with the eductors than I did with my 2 x 3/4' flex nozzle outlets and two Seio 620's in the tank.
      I'm interested in these eductors too.
      One suggestion on your sump, why not make a fourth baffle to stop that waterfall that's creating all those bubbles?
      Yeah, I was thinking that too, but when the tank has not lost any water due to evap, the little waterfall isnt there. I guess i could just pop a ATO on there to keep the water from dropping instead of taking apart the whole thing.
      thanks for the heads up!
      This seems like pretty cool flow idea with little cost and effort. Thanks for the post and hope u list parts soon.
