      Macro in overflow

Anyone run Macro in their overflow or know someone who does? I was thinking about it because overflows do get some light from the tank lights and I have room in mine. What would the pros and cons be?

Pros = more macro is more nutrient export. Like an extra fuge
Cons = the great potential of clogging your overflow and causing a massive flood when you least expect it.

For me, the pros do not outweigh the cons. but then again, I have an external overflow box.

Exactly what I was thinking. I wouldn't suggest it....

Wow I forgot about this thread. Thanks for the replys. I didn't think of the clog and overflow potential. I will have to think about it more.

I think I'll try this. I have a light that fits perfectly on top of my overflow (it's basically an internal overflow) and I have 2 standpipes, one for normal use and one for emergencies) I'll try it and let you guys know how it goes.

I mean, realistically there is no reason why you can't do it. But the question is just basically; how much to you trust yourself to keep an eye on it? I've only had one overflow with my tank and it was during the start up phase. A huge clump of green algae just plugged up my return and off it went. It was completely my fault as it took weeks to build up.
