      Well done !!!

How does everyone wash there filter sock? So far I only hand-washed them. Too afraid to put it in laundry machine. Just not sure how residual detergents might effect the sock.

Ditto PK, I've always used a high-pressure garden hose. This last time I used the washing machine, but was also worried about residue so I rinsed it out really well by hand afterward...

I might buy a cheap chlorine test kit at Petsmart. Then I can just machine wash them with bleach only and see if they still give off chlorine.

the chlorine bleach should evaporate from the sock fairly quickly. i let mine dry, then rinse again w/ r/o and let them dry again. never had a prob but then again i'm not a chemist by trade. and yes sewing machines are super hard to use. wish i was still w/ my ex, man could she sew! LOL!!

Yup, that was my inspiration. I just don't see any need in cutting it into a specific shape. It takes a lot longer to do it that way and it wastes a little more fabric. But that's exactly the website i used to make these from.
