      Free: Blackstorm/Orangestorm clutch of eggs

I have a 2 day old clutch of eggs from a blackstorm dad and an orangestorm mom. Free to anyone that can keep them, you'd need live food already set up.

I'm in Murrieta but can meet halfway, it would be time-sensitive. I'd ask for a few back if the clutch is successful. Otherwise, they're coral food.

Would they need rotifers or would live baby brine shrimp work?

Rotifers are the best move, TDO A1 can work. Also need phyto to green tint the water and airstone to keep the eggs moving sans the parents. For this clutch it would need to be someone that already has things going or ready to get moving asap- I’m happy to help someone get going.

DJ: have you used TDO A1? How was the survival rate with that?

Yes. Most of the clutches I used rotifers and mixed TDO in starting on day0. Last clutch I didn’t have rotifers so I went with straight TDO A1 from the starting gate and the survival rate was less but not 0. Rotifers with TDO is the way to go weening them off rotifers from the starting gate. If I were to start again I probably wouldn’t bother with culturing rotifers, I’d just time buying them and dosing the larvae tank a day or 2 before hatch night and then TDO on day0… this is just because I suck at rotifer cultures.

One thing I haven’t tried is keeping them without the parents before hatching. It can be done aerating and moving the larvae with an airstone but I wouldn’t try keeping them without dad/mom more than a day or 2 before hatching.

Derek you’re a perfect candidate for these! I have other tips if you decide to

I’m tempted. Mine weee spawning regularly, but haven’t been lately. Probably cause I’ve been lazy with tank maintenance lately

A local guy had picked them up Saturday morning, no report if they hatched. I'm sure this pair will lay again soon. Let's leave the thread open and I'll update it when I have another clutch.

I've also been reading about keeping them without the parents, Derek is a great candidate, between the hardware and knowledge the two of us have we could probably have some good luck, just need to know someone who breeds rotifers.

Thank you for the suggestions and offer, I have live phyto, I've never tried to raise clown fry, and I recently got laid off, now may be a good time to try.
