      Saltwater Mollies

I've set up a macro algae tank and looking to add a few mollies. Checking here to see if anyone has any they will sell or if they know of a lfs that sells them. Thanks

Thanks. Didn't realize it was that simple to acclimate. Probably easier than finding some that are already in saltwater.

I’d take it slow if you do try. I tried 3 separate times with no success (then again maybe the ones I bought weren’t as healthy as they looked) also
sd reef shop might have some, they have every time I’ve been in

How long did you drop acclimate and do you recall what kind of mollies? I read the article above and watched some videos where it mentions 6 hours or more of drip acclimation.

From what I have read the species of mollie matter for their survivability and purpose …. If you are using them as a canary in a coal mine for signs of fish disease you want mollies that have not been with other saltwater fish.

This thread also has good info

tried with the common ones (two black and one orange) the first time I had the drip for 6 hours, 8 the second time and over night the 3rd time (each time there was a small heater and air stone to keep them comfortable)

      Solved.
Bought 4 mollies from AW. Acclimated them for 14 hours. Put them in and lost the black one which I read was the ones that do the best. Other 3 doing good and it's been a week. (2 larger sailfin and one dalmatian.)

Mine just had babies.. got about 16+ 1 week olds running around in there... in a 280 that i just started up 2 months ago they have doubled in size...was feeding the tank and was like what the heck does that springer damsel have in its mouth. No corals in the tank as of yet so no real flow for them to have to worry about.
