      Lightbulb Tang "Feeler"

My reef tank has been growing ulva since I moved the fish into the house. To remove the ulva I think I would like a tang.

      What kind?

I don't know what kind of tang I should be looking for, and I don't know what tang might be available from folk who have extra due to aggresion, or reefs being dismantled, or divorce or whatever else might make a reefer eager to unload a beautiful healthy tang for meager coins or free?

Hence, I have posted a tang feeler to find out what might be out there?

Let me know if you have ever felt a tang in the past, or if you have some spare tang that I might acquire for my Ulva issues.

That's my first tang feeler, how do you feel about this? LMK
PM is best, if you send two it's pms, so let me unload my inbox, thanks

I had the same issue and a bought a small to face rabbit fish. That thing has been great, not only did it clear all the ulva, but I catch it eating bubble algae once in a while too. Additionally, I can feed it chaeto from my sump and it mows it down like ice cream, I just clip it to a nori clip and it never adds nutrients to the tank (until the foxface take huge deuces of partially digested chaeto)

Yes, they are probably the best for mowing the tank. Maybe I should ask who's got a foxface?

      Thanks PatientZero!
I was trying to be an adoptive tank to an established fish that needed to be rescued out of it's current situation. I was late on a Powder Brown tang that was rehomed here, and of course I am secretely hoping to get a "banned" Hawaiian fish or maybe even a gem tang that isn't working out for the current owner? If I do come across a nice fish at the LFS I can always net up one of those, and I agree that supporting our LFS is a reefers duty for the sake of the hobby. The Ulva is pressing and I'm impatient to get that algae out of the tank so we shall see if a rescue or new purchase of an algae janitor results from the current situation. Thanks all for your consideration.
