need to get water soon but it’s raining currently lol
anybody know if it’s safe to go get some or if I should wait a week or two? (Trying to set up my new tank) and this rain is hindering my plans I think

Definitely. I would wait at least a week from the last rain, if not two.

I like using the natural water but at this point I probably should get an RO unit honestly

      Diatom filter

If you want to go the natural route maybe consider adding a diatom filter (vortex, magnum polisher or pool filter) to your bag of tools. Filtering for a day or so thru diatomaceous earth will take out anything bigger than 1 micron. There’s a reefer active on r2r “Paul B” that has been filtering ocean water for his aquarium this way for decades. In his book he mentions grabbing water during a red tide filtering and using it. Others have added them to their sump strategy and it has eliminated the need for a skimmer. I’ve used one in tank with success to manage ich (18 microns). They can be a pain to charge but you won’t see cleaner clearer water. I still make my own water but if I return to scripps it’s what I’d do.
