Yes I know tweezers and an orange flashlight is what you are supposed to use but it’s fast and scary as hell! I will not post a picture but these things eat coral and fish, anyone wants to come and help me I will pay you. Google the beast if you want a picture, it’s face looks like predator the movie.

There are some reefers on reef2reef that want bobbit worms as a pet. You may have luck getting someone to help take it off your hands there.

      Thanks, that what I hear.

That’s a freaky pet but I have heard of people housing them. Crazy

Have you tried the classic bristle worm bottle?
      https://fishlab.com/bristle-worm-trap/

Ignore- I’ve done more reading and it sounds like they don’t commit their full body to a trap… crazy- good luck tony! Sounds like late nights and tweezers.

Was going to use a plastic bottle.

That will work! He goes into my critter trap but he can get out, appreciate the help fellow reefers.

I have tiny nano gobies and a flame prawn that live in the the same hole so am starting to think he is only scary to me? He has dragged off and killed to many $ of corals, he’s gotta go. They are smart and he will only go half way into my traps so far.

About ~5 years ago I had a Bobbitt Worm that was about 20" long. It was as long as a standard 10g glass tank. I had a video of it fully out stretching the full length of the tank.. I spooked it as I approached and it was able to zip the full 20" length of its body backwards back into its hole in 1/2 a second. Crazy fast. Beautiful iridescence along its body

GDamn these vampires! Here is my suggestion, if you have one laying around try a hang on the back canister filter with a couple a small live rocks loaded in. That's how I caught mine a couple years back. They are so curious that they will inevitably venture in there at night when they are hunting. They can't help themselves lol. I can loan you mine if you don't have one. Make sure you have all the lights off (even any moonlight). It will spook him most likely. And if you can, try to adjust the out flow to the lowest possible setting on the canister to make it easier for him to get in there. Once most or all of his body is in there turn it off and remove the canister and dump it all either outside or into a bucket somewhere and isolate him however you see fit. Don't worry, you'll get him, they are too hungry and love a new food source.

      Good luck!
