Goni gonna be a goner?

I had a goni once before and it appeared very healthy for a few months but slowly retracted and died. I got another one recently since my tank seems pretty healthy, all the corals are growing nice and strong. It looks great but now is not extending as much as before. I feed it rotifers. Anything I should try? It is not on the bottom of the tank, it is about 1/4 from the bottom. Should I move it to the sand?

In a Goni collectors FB group many reefers mention dosing manganese and iron. Hoping to add some gonis to my tank.

Thank you, I will read up on that. I was reading a few articles, it sounds like people have figured out how to keep them alive longer than 6 months so there is hope.
