      Clownfish diet ?

Hey, been around reefing for 10+ years now. I’ve had multiple clownfish pairs over that time as well. However, I’ve never had a pair that would only eat frozen mysis. I’ve tried pellets and flakes but they either spit them out or ignore them. The mysis they eat like they’ve never seen food before haha. They’re tank bred Picassos so I know they aren’t strangers to pellets and flakes.

My question is, is mysis enough? I’ve always fed a variety and had no issue with other fish. Just want to make sure they are getting what they need. They seem fat and happy, just want to make sure they stay that way.

      Thanks!

You can bump up the nutritional value soaking the mysis in selcon.

That’s a good idea. Thanks! I know frozen mysis is better than frozen brine, but wasn’t sure if it was enough.

They are probably fine w/ the mysis, though I do prefer variety. I've been feeding mainly rods frozen, so it's quite a mix. I have an auto feeder that also releases NLS pellets, and my picasso's go crazy for that as well, maybe give it a try if you haven't already.

Thanks. I’ll looks into the Rods. I’ve seen it out there for years now, just never tried it. The pellets they spit out. I’ve been trying Ocean Nutrition Formula One pellets.

Haha yep it’s them. They eat like pigs, when it’s something they like lol. I’ll look into that food also.

I soak all my frozen food in selcon and Zoe from Kent. LRS also makes a frozen food in flat packs that has a great mixture as well as rods.

This, both TDO and NLS pellets seem to draw even the most finicky eaters, even my very picky anthia love both of these, it's the only time my clowns leave their anemone

Thanks, I'll check out the LRS. I had seen that name in some of my research. The selcon seems popular too.

Haha will do. It's just funny because I have never had a tank bred fish with such particular taste lol. Thankfully they are still nice and fat despite that. I'll have to order some of the stuff below. My wife is already making fun of me for having 3 different foods for these guys so I'm sure I'll be teased even more haha. I just tell her they get their picky taste from her
