      Nice! Thanks!
I'm planning to donate some nice red monti cap frags and some softies to see how this work. Hey if it work, it'll be good to know that people CAN be trusted sometime. If it doesn't work, we'll just continue to lock our doors, set our alarms and carry guns.

I think it's great that you are looking to include everyone.
IMO...you're on the right track about limiting how many corals you can receive within a certain time frame (say two a month...which gives time for growth so that nothing is over fragged). Also, it's a good idea to keep a list of receivers and be sure that they are fragging off and passing along those frags that they have received (as you've mentioned).

I'll have to come up with a web system that will publicly display who donated what and who received frags from whom. I'm thinking it'll be similar to some sort of geneology chart.

Any web programmer out there know of an open source solution for a tree structure display? How about putting up a wiki?

Danny what about just a Online Excel(s) sheet to start with...Something simple. Maybe access, anyone any good with access. Anyways I got some Kenya tree frags and possibly some xenia to donate out. We Could possible do one Excel sheet per Coral and tree.

      Example:
Master PIF Coral Date # of Frags Donated by
      Kenya Tree 7/7/2006 4 Trickman2

Origin of Frag Aprox size PIF Donated to Date
      Trickman2 5 Dhuynh 7/7/2006
      Dhuynh 3 whoever 9/9/2006

      Bubble corals are fragable too.

This seems like a toughy to classify individuals with their coral contributions. The idea of paying it forward would be one person to offer up a coral as the receiver than giving a coral to another member, and so on and so forth, right?

Would there be an order to who gets priority? Or is priority even an issue?

It's a nice idea to put something like this put into action. (eventhough it does seem a bit pinko)

I do know that there are many of us who have been doing this for a long time. Having it down in writing will be kind of like tracking stars in our crowns. Yeah, I just might buy my way into heaven. (sorry folks, I've been running a fever for a couple of days now. A little loopy.)

      Great idea though.

      this is a noble concept.
There is a sofware call "Visio" it does family trees, flow charts, etc.
I like the tier idea, the tiers could be classify as LPS, SPS, Softies, Zoantoids. then each coral can be in one of those groups. I like the points idea.

I like the idea, in actuallity thos program is in affect already. I've received free stuff....... Wich means when the time comes, I've got some gpe. Also I can shift my coral to sps if that's needed.
Putting to many rules in affect would null the nobility of the humanity experiment. The idea of pif is to not boast about paying it forward. I know this stuff cost $$$ but if that's the issue, then this will never work. Ide like to say that sacredfire, and limestro started this motivation with me. Although i ve got to say, its going to be good to pif. ...... I'm in.

      Danny,

Why not include the LPS and softies just to track growth ect...

I would like to know whats up with the anemones, gsp, zenia,
shrooms, hammers, torches, clams that I put up for adoption.
How their doing in others tank systems ect...

Ahaha Since were calling out Names

Russell I know what you mean. I guess the older forgotten name for PIF is "Karma" and its funny you give me and others credit to that but I was in the Recieving end once. Now its time to give back. I've never forgotten to. Minh was one of the guys that passed the torch to me. Just to name a few and the list goes on. I'm glad you caught on to the concept. So now the torch is passed.

Danny, if you still are looking for a programmer, here I am. My schedule is somewhat tight, but if you ever need a helping hand LMK. I can't make and promises but I'll do my best to contribute and help get the ball rolling.
