TM Pro Salt Issues

I didn't see a thread on here about the problems reefers are having with TM Pro Salt, so wanted to share in case any locals are still using it. I've read lots of threads on social media and other groups of tank crashes and reefers losing entire livestock.

Yeah I saw that too Shane over at SBB corals had some good write ups about it, the iron concentrations were totally out of wack, including tons of other parameters if you check out some of those triton icp tests on R2R that people are posting. I personally still use the tropic marine classic, I haven’t heard anything about it having the same issues and it is definitely still working fine all my most sensitive acros are still happy so I’m guessing that it only extends to TM Pro. Interested to hear what others say as well.

Has been a big issue bouncing around on the web. I think Tropic Marine really screwed themselves on this one. A premium salt that claims to be Pharma grade being outsourced to Turkey.
They pretend for months nothing is wrong... Destroyed a bunch of peoples high end tanks and they finally had to admit it is the salt...oops. Reason for outsourcing is another story, Covid?, Money? -Both?....I guess they forgot it is supposed to be Pharma grade, Um? Quality Control? what is that? Now for all those Tropic marine salt users...it would be a good time to switch salts....force TM to drop prices to get its customers back. Just my take on it...If I was using some ultra high end salt to get the best for them to outsource and destroy my high end reef...I think I wouldn't be going back to them for a while.

Some people on the web are saying that at least they are owning up to it....Really? After they got caught and destroyed a bunch of reefers tanks that trusted they had the best and it was pharma grade. I don't think they have much choice at this point.

Hey I saw a Ryan & Randy BRS vid the other day- they said they would be accepting returned product if unopened, otherwise it sounds like TM will likely be doing some sort of recall. They said TM will likely do a replacement option, posting further details on the TM website. However they think the supply from Germany could be limited. I’m unsure about refunds & shipping charges atm

Yes. Contact customer service. They have a web form to fill out. I’ve already seen order confirmation for three replacement boxes and three replacement buckets. I bought a lot during Black Friday. I have not have any issues with the turkey batch.
