Original Linage of Chicago Sunburst Anemone

This was my most expensive purchase still to date! Bought one amazing looking nem at the 2019 Reefapalooza Anaheim from Riptide Creatures. It was 8" but told it expands to around 10". I was told they flew to Chicago and purchased 3 from one of the original people who grew and named these Chicago Sunbursts.

I had sold a bunch of RBTAs at the time and figured I'll just go ahead and add this beauty to my tank with rest of my RBTAs. I had read about Colorado Sunbursts but not that familiar with Chicago's at the time.

I was happy that it quickly split into 3 after a couple of weeks! Woohoo. Tripled my $$$! But then it started to go down hill. I'd find a Sunburst tentacle floating around on daily basis.. and they looked not the same as they once did.

Soon learned that these high end anemones are more sensitive and cannot/should not be kept with other anemones and even leather corals due to chemical warfare. Mine were on the brink of death till I learned how to treat them with ciprofloxacin. Treated my 3 for 2 weeks and they looked much better! until one decided to go for a walk and got into a powerhead! I had very little hope for that mangled guy... but it survived and thrived!

2+ years later, I now have quite a few of them and it's finally time to move some into new homes. My plan was to grow a tank full of them... we'll see..

I have a variety of size and coloration and price range from $600 to $1500.

Here are couple of the best ones in size and coloration. There are 2, each expands to size of my hand around 8-10". These will be $1500.

Smaller ones that haven't developed all the colors will start at $600.

Shoot me a PM and we'll go from there. Of course I'd expect you to see these in person before committing. Oh, and if you have other nems, get ride of them first!

How small was the tank you had them in when they were with other nems? I have a 6 foot 400 gallon tank. If I had one of these on the other side of the tank do you think it would be bothered by the other nems? I currently have s black widow and several rainbow nems all on 1 rock living together on 1 side of the tank.

KFC has a tank with about two dozen nems of every flavor and they don’t seem to bother each other at all. I’ve had ChSB along with inferno and supernovas in the same 40 gallon tank and they were fine.
