So I know that best practices are to quarantine every new fish before adding to your display and when I first set it up I did QT all my fish. But, now its been a while and the QT is long gone. I want to add a tailspot blenny to my display and am reluctant to buy a tank and set it up to QT one small fish. I've heard that Quality Marine does a pretty good job screening their fish and doing their best to ensure they are healthy before they go to the LFS. If I can arrange it I would try to get the fish before it even entered the LFS system.
My question is what are people's experience with fish from QM and how would you measure the risk of adding a fish from them without QT first? I know its a gamble, but unless there is a local source for quarantined fish my other choices are basically to gamble or go without the fish. If someone local does do QT for a bit of a price mark-up please let me know.
Thanks for your input. - Alan
