      Octospawn splitting?

In the past, my tank was sps dominant aside from some zoas. After a break from the hobby, I started buying LPS and running more of a mixed reef, so I am fairly new to LPS. From everything I've read I'm pretty sure my octosopawn is splitting. Question is do they only split into one additional new head? It almost looks like a clover shape instead of a figure eight, so could it be quadrupling in heads instead of just doubling?

Octospawns typically take months to ‘split’. If what you are seeing is happening faster than that, it’s probably not a good sign. Keep an eye on it.

It has been a long time with the figure 8 shape, and it is usually fully open, so I'm not sure how long it's had this clover looking shape. I actually did a time lapse video to see if I could capture the actual split, but understand it can take months to occur. As stated, I am new, so if anyone this it is not splitting and it is on its way out, don't hesitate to let me know your thoughts. Bought this piece months ago from AW and I know their piece is also very slow growing.

Ah, got it. The clover shape is likely gradual splitting.

Yeah it's splitting...euphyllias don't always only split from one into two, sometimes you'll get three and sometimes even four ...although it seems that's predominantly with some strains of torches and less so with hammers and spawns

Would be nice if it's more than just doubling. Taking forever to split/grow new heads.

Hahaha, yeah they can vary a lot...I have one torch that I've had for maybe 2 years and it's still mid split at best, then there's others that will split every few months
