Who doses nitrate and which brand?

I finally broke down and did an ICP test on my tank. My nitrates were at 0.2 ppm, which isnt bad, and I was thinking about maybe adding some more since my tank is both crowded and going on 4 plus years.

Anyone had suggestions on nitrate products that they dose with and like?

I’ve used the FishOfHex brand and worked well for me. I recently got the green leaf aquariums brand recently and so i can make bulk. The FishOfHex one gallon was too expensive to ship. Good luck!

I've used the tree stump remover before. Added a little, tested, no results. Added a little, tested, no results. Added a little, BOOM, algae farm. I don't use it anymore.

Well I have a refugium with ton of cheato so it eats up a lot of nitrate. I’ve overdosed with stuff with no ill effects. So I am neutral on the product as I can’t get my nitrates up.

I just tested mine with the new hanna checker, I am ultra low, 0.57ppm yesterday, retested today, 0.70ppm. Id like to get my levels up at least between 5 and 10ppm

In researching and Randy Holmes Farley seems to prefer sodium nitrate versus potassium nitrate. There is someone on Etsy that sells sodium nitrate.

I use the same stuff. It works ok for me, without dosing I was testing 0 nitrates. I’ve dosed it to stay in and around 5
