      Dip it..

Just wanted to show how important dipping coral is. Just looking at this piece of GSP before I dropped it into the solution I did not notice anything. But I dipped it anyways. Not even 30 seconds in and look at the amount of Bristle worns that fell off. Quarter next to the GSP for size reference.

Bristle works are a positive thing to have in your system. They are great clean up crew. Hobbit worms however are not

Those Hobbit worms are terrible with their hairy feet and stealing my precious rings and all.

I've learned the hard way to quarantine all fish and dip all corals (Bayer). I'd like to add some peppermint shrimp to my tank but am uncertain how to proceed. I run copper treatment in my QT tank and don't have a place to hold them until they molt so that I can be certain they won't bring cysts into my display on their exo. If anyone knows where to find any locally that have come from a system that doesn't have fish and therefore can't carry anything nasty into my tank please let me know.

To the OP's post, I actually included bristle worms in my order from Indo-Pacific Sea Farms when I was setting up my tank along with a lot of other critters to diversify my system. As D-Man said, they are great at cleaning up the tank.

Just so you know as well, you can get bristle worms in frozen food. I worked for an aquarium maint company years ago and there were a lot of tanks that had never seen a speck of live rock or, live coral that had tons of bristle worms from the frozen food.
