      Goni a goner?

I've had this ORA red goniopora for about a year. It had shown some nice growth and then one day retracted and haven't seen polyps out in at least a month probably longer. There is obvious death around outer part which hasn't gotten any bigger in a couple of weeks, and I still see color in the center of the frag. Is this a complete goner or possibly has a chance of coming back? Sorry for enhanced photo but it was the only way I could show the color still on frag. First photo taken almost a year ago.

I had the same thing happen to me with mine. I started doing more water changes and that helped. It didn't like the place I had it I think. I hope yours comes back

Could be dealing with a bacterial infection. Since you can get at it, maybe try a dip (revive or melafix) followed by an iodine dip (over the counter iodine and not iodide! Dilute it to look like Ice tea) After you dip in iodine for a couple mins, don’t rinse- place it back. It’s not dead until it is brown.

So there's hope. I did do an iodine dip a couple of weeks ago. I also have Melafix. How long should I wait to do another dip? I use Melafix and Iodine on next one.

It’s my opinion that you’re good to do it again. It may be aggressive but I gauge the situation & dip every 5-7 days.
